Why an Aircon Evaluation Is Worth Doing
Air conditioning doesn’t fail all at once. Dust settles on the filter and the coil. A fan wheel loads up and starts running slightly out of balance. A duct joint works loose up in the roof. None of it announces itself.
So the system quietly does less, and you adjust to it without noticing. Then one day it stops doing the job altogether, and by that point you’re usually not looking at a clean and a small repair anymore.
An Aircon Evaluation is a proper visual inspection by a licensed Alliance technician. We open the access points, run diagnostic checks, and tell you exactly what we find. If something needs sorting, we’ll explain what and what it’ll cost. If nothing needs sorting, we’ll tell you that too.

How the Free Evaluation Works
A licensed Alliance technician comes to your home, inspects your air conditioning, and gives you a straight answer. Here’s exactly what happens:

A licensed Alliance technician arrives at the time you booked. Same uniform, same van, same standards. No contractors.

A full visual evaluation of your air conditioning. Filters, coils, ductwork, drainage, fan and blower, electrical safety, mounting. Every key component.

We tell you what we found. If your system is fine, we say so. If it needs a clean or a repair, we explain what's involved and what it'll cost. Your call from there.
If your system doesn’t need anything, we’ll tell you. We’re not here to sell you something you don’t need.

Weak or slow cooling

What’s usually behind it
Your filter and indoor coil do the work of pulling air through the system. Over time they load up with dust. The system still runs, it just moves less air, and you pay for the extra effort on your power bill.
What we do about it
We pull the filter and show you its condition. We inspect the indoor coil for dirt, corrosion and any sign of a refrigerant leak. If a clean is all it needs, we’ll tell you that, and we can often do it on the spot.
A smell on start-up
What’s usually behind it
Air conditioners pull moisture out of your air, and that water has to drain away. When the drain blocks or the coil stays damp, mould grows on the surfaces your air passes over on the way into the room.
What we do about it
We inspect the indoor and outdoor coils for mould and corrosion, and check the drain kit and drainage line for blockages or standing water. If we find something, we’ll show you the photo and explain what it takes to fix.

What’s usually behind it
On a ducted system, flexible ductwork carries the cold air from the unit into each room. If a run is crushed, torn or full of debris, you’re cooling your roof cavity instead of your home. Zone motors are the other common cause. When one wears out, that zone stops getting its share of air.
What we do about it
We inspect every accessible run of ductwork for damage, debris and torn insulation, and test that your zone motors are opening and closing the way they should. If we find a problem, we’ll show you a photo and explain what it’ll take to fix.

What’s usually behind it
The fan wheel collects dust the same way the filter does. Once it’s coated unevenly it runs out of balance, and that vibration works its way through mounting screws and brackets. Left long enough, a small noise turns into a part that needs replacing.
What we do about it
We run the system and listen for it. We inspect the fan wheel and blower for dust build-up and wear, and check the indoor mounting and the outdoor bracket alignment while we’re there.
The safety switch

What’s usually behind it
Your air conditioning pulls serious power. The safety switch and isolation switch are what protect your home from an electrical fault, from fire, and from damage to the unit itself. By law, every system needs a working RCBO.
What we do about it
We test the safety switch to confirm it’s doing its job, and check the isolation switch is in proper working order. We inspect both as part of every Aircon Evaluation. If something isn’t safe, we’ll flag it immediately.
